Teaching Professional Looking Make-up to High School Students

For two years, I've taught 50 high school students how to do their own professional-looking make-up. In the lesson I covered the fundamentals of color theory, ran through some examples of good practice and bad practice, and gave the students time to play with their very own brushes and color palettes. Central to my lesson is always the right reasons for which to use makeup, and the reasons not to. This class was offered under the auspices of Splash, a student-run weekend that turns the MIT campus into a learning playground and invites high school students from all over to come and learn from MIT students.
